HealthCap awarded SVCA’s Deal of the Year

Yesterday, HealthCap received Swedish Private Equity and Venture Capital Association’s (SVCA) award for Deal of the Year for 2014 for its divestment of Norwegian oncology company Algeta ASA to Bayer AG for a total deal value of USD 2.9 billion. HealthCap IV made its initial investment in the company in 2005 and remained the largest shareholder until the acquisition was completed in March, 2014.

Mr. Per Bolund, Swedish Minister for Financial Markets and Consumer Affairs, handed over the price to HealthCap partner Mr. Per Samuelsson at SVCA’s yearly conference at the Fotografiska Museum in Stockholm.
