HealthCap´s co-founder Peder Fredrikson passed away at the age of 72
Peder Fredrikson January 10, 1952 – March 29, 2024
In 1996, Peder Fredrikson teamed with Björn Odlander to form the life science focused venture capital firm HealthCap.
Peder provided invaluable knowledge, experience and wisdom to our firm, especially in the fields of corporate finance and investment banking.
Almost thirty years ago, venture capital methodology was immature in Europe and Peder pioneered the structuring of funds, investment contracts and philosophy, and investor relations. Without Peder there would have been no HealthCap.
No one attending our yearly CEO conferences will forget how Peder used to announce the dinner speech to be held by his favorite investment banker – and as usual – delivered the speech himself. Peders wit and ability to express himself paired with a fondness for straight shooting provided a great balance to our science-based investment approach. He will be dearly missed.
